Following an immersion of three years in a popular city in Marseille – the residence Fonscolombes – and the realization of numerous art works / installations in situ in co-creation with its inhabitants, the artistic group transposed these experiments of the social sphere into the artistic sphere by realizing an experimental film.
It is a question of bringing to light certain things which are there and which we do not see and other things which are not there and which we do not see either.
Marrying a sloping ground, the high-rise building is built on a headland offering since the balconies a views overhanging the city and the méditerranée. Since these points of view, the inhabitants, by giving way in a kind of awakened musing can contemplate in the space, on the horizon, the emanation of their vision. A kind of projection of what is lacking in the existence, like the mirages of oasis in the desert which allow the travelers to continue their roads by following the illusion.
Synopsis
Three miragéologues are sent on the ground to study this stunning phenomenon: inhabitants of a city in the North of Marseille tend to see mirages. The influence of the pipeline networks of water or the meshing of the reinforced concrete which establishes the built are they the cause of these visions? Or then it is possible that these esthetic projections are due to a dissatisfaction of the existence, to a fear, to a lack? By consequences, the inhabitants do they the same generate such visions?
Right in the middle of their searches, the scientists are interrupted by their hierarchy which decide the stop of the mission, feeling a possible political skid. Having the strong feeling that they approach an imminent discovery, their passion urges them to return full foot into mirages and to disappear for ever at the heart of the city.
